Alan Seward - Our Approach

Our approach - how we are paid

Historically there has existed a common misconception that financial advice is free. The fact of the matter is that financial advice needs to be paid for like everything else in life.

However, you do have a choice as to how you wish us to be remunerated. Where a product is purchased as a result of our advice, we can either take a commission from the product provider or you can pay us a fee based on an hourly rate. The choice is entirely yours.

Whichever payment option you decide upon, we remain committed to providing you with entirely independent financial advice and you can be sure we will be entirely transparent in how we deal with you and will always work with your best interests in mind.

Commission-based remuneration

By instructing us to take our payment on a commission basis, you will pay nothing for our advice up front. Our services are paid for out of the contract charges levied by the product provider.

Fee-based remuneration

If you would rather pay us an hourly rate for our services, we will keep a record of the time we spend working for you by way of a fee account.

Our typical hourly rates are as follows:

Director/Specialist Advice

£150-200 per hour

Financial Adviser

£125-150 per hour

Administration

£35 per hour
